Attending UNCITRAL
I attended a meeting of UNCITRAL with Marc Schmitz, the new UIHJ President on July 2nd & 3rd. UNCITRAL (United Nations Commission on International Trade Law), was holding a special meeting for delegates to become informed on what the six working groups had accomplished to date and obtain a summary on the work that had been done and the next step each committee would be taking. Usually, when I attend these meetings, it's just one of the working groups and they are actually writing the model law or guidelines assigned to their group.
On the days we were there, working group II was being discussed. This is the committee looking at insolvency laws and included in that topic was the collection of the judgment after the decision. I was also able to hear the results of working group VI, which I have been attending and following for the past several years on Security Interests.
