Conference
I look forward to seeing everyone at this year's Annual Conference in San Diego, CA.
This year's presentation will feature yearly case statistics and an example of the newly implemented forms and charts. I know this information is really exciting! The flowchart mentioned in the previous blog has been reformated and will be included in the conference booklet.
Recent cases have come through this committee regarding communication issues like additional fees, additional addresses, proof of service or non-service, etc. It is often difficult while in the field to let your emotions go and wait for permission from your client regarding new addresses or additional fees. Written permission is the best, but if that is not possible then you need to at least document the date and time of the phone call and from whom you received the authorization. Please try to remember that the case is not your personal case and there are other people or companies calling the shots. If you aren't careful, you'll lose out on this extra fees. But if you're in the mindframe that you just want to get the case served at any cost, then you won't mind doing all of the extra work for free.
The Notice of Intent to File Complaint still dominates all other types of filings.
