How to Become a Process Server
Every state and country is different. The best way to start the dialogue is to contact your state or national process servers association. The National Association of Professional Process Servers (NAPPS) is the largest community of professional process servers world-wide, and the first resource for credible information regarding the process serving profession. Visit www.NAPPS.org and make contact with a NAPPS member in your area today!
Let me introduce myself to you. My name is Tammy Runchey and I am the NAPPS Promotion and Growth Chair. The name says it all. I am charged with promoting NAPPS to the legal community and getting the word out to potential members about the benefits of belonging to an organization such as NAPPS. NAPPS is over 2200 members worldwide. To our members we provide the ability to become Financial Service Compliant, send documents quickly and securely with NAPPS-exclusive SECUREDocument Trading and offer benefits such as discounts for office supplies, cell phone service and prescriptions exclusive to NAPPS members. Please take the time to go to www.NAPPS.org and check us out. If you have any additional questions, call 1-800-477-8211. You'll be glad you did.
I recently attended the NAPPS Board Meeting in Chicago.
It was a great meeting and this is going to be another great year!
My committee report was presented and I am pleased to report promotions that were introduced last year will continue again this year. That’s right folks!! You will again have the opportunity to renew your dues at the NAPPS Conference at a $50 discount. Please don’t forget you can also add the voluntary donation to the legislative fund at that time. NOTE: In case you renewed at the conference in New Orleans and you did not donate to the fund and want to you can contact the NAPPS administrative office and do so at any time. Thanks for your support.
Also continuing this year is the 50% discount on new membership applications filled out at either the NAPPS Annual Conference or State Charter Conference. Folks this is an amazing opportunity to get other colleagues or staff involved. Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity! The following are State Charter Conferences that YOU can apply for membership at a 50% discount:
TPSA – Texas Process Servers Assoc. 9/15-9/16/17 Corpus Christi, TX
NYSPPSA – New York State Professional Process Servers Association 9/15-9/16/17 Saratoga Springs, NY
CALSPRO – California Association of Legal Support Professionals 9/22-9/24/17 Rancho Mirage, CA
APSA – Arizona Process Servers Association 9/16-9/17/17 Mesa, AZ
MCOPSA – Michigan Court Officer, Deputy Sheriff & Process Servers Association TBA 11/2017
And of course, at the NAPPS Annual Conference 4/19-4/21/17 in San Diego, CA.
The membership survey will be presented again. There was a lot of very valuable feedback from those that filled out the survey. In whatever form it is presented to you, please take the time to fill it out. Your input is very much appreciated.
The committee prepared a full page ad that will be used either in print advertising, conference booklets or handouts to promote NAPPS to the legal profession. This has been in the works for a while and finally came to fruition.
The National Relations Committee is continuing their quest to find a legal professional group that NAPPS can partner up with to the benefit of both organizations; similar to that of our relationship with the National Sheriff’s Association. To that end, they attended the NALA (The Paralegal Association) Conference in Orlando in July and in October will be attending the NALS Conference (the Association for Legal Professionals) in Norfolk, VA and the NFPA Conference (National Federation of Paralegals Association) in New Orleans.
Again, I would like to thank committee members, Tom Denton-IL, Paula Ashcraft-OH, Jessica Jester-TX and Cliff Jacobs-CA for all their hard work, the NAPPS Board and the NAPPS Administrative office.
